Description
With her small ears pricked in keen interest, Mazzi pressed gently through the miniature herd of cattle, a few nearly invisible cues from Noel in the saddle guiding her. It was the calm before the storm, as the two slowly separated their assigned steer from the others. Before it knew what had happened, the richly speckled steer found itself away from the saftey of its companions and, with a wild cry from the bovine victim, the action began.

It darted right, but found itself nose-to-nose with the fierce buckskin mare. Wheeling to the left, it found itself once again staring into the mismatched, predatory eyes of Mazzi. Backing up at an unsure pace, the young steer shifted its weight uncomfortably, staring at the herd it desperately wanted to return to. But every motion it made was mirrored and spurned by this agile young mare before it.
