Description
Shown: New OCs, Cameron Spencer and his horse Benji.
These two are attending ~Icetaon 's awesome new school, Silver Sun School of Equestrian Arts. You can tell I am really excited about it because it only took me two days to draw this picture.
Record! Even if I did do a really simple background.And hey, look who can draw humans now!
I am so proud of myself. I know Cameron isn't the greatest, but it was way easier for me to draw him than any other human I've tried.Cameron is a 12 year old Canadian boy who lives near Climax Stables when he is not boarding at SSSEA.
Benji is a 7 year old Dutch Warmblood x Haflinger who belongs to Cameron.
Cameron was kind of glum about being back at school, but at least he got to bring his horse to school with him. When he led his gelding, Benji, from the trailer, Benji was so full of energy that he dragged Cameron down the ramp. Benji was never afraid of the trailer, but he was so curious that he couldn't wait to get out and explore the new farm, Silver Sun Stables, where SSSEA was located. A couple of girls with their ponies looked worried as Benji and Cameron wheeled around the parking lot. In the boarding barn, Cameron's dad helped remove Benji's shipping gear. Once his dad left, Cameron decided to take Benji around to explore the parking lot, and Benji took off to visit some horses in the next paddock. Cameron dug in his heels, but he could hardly control his energetic young horse.
"Hey, all students are supposed to have their horses in the barn right now!" called Claire, the stable manager.
"Right, I knew that!" yelled Cameron, unable to stop laughing at his horse. "I was just on my way! You must be Claire! Nice hair." He was referring to the manager's pink hair.
“Thanks,” said Claire, looking unimpressed. She was probably already thinking what Cameron’s past teachers always thought: this kid is going to be trouble.

This is absolutely great... I opened the picture, looked at the horse and thought to myself: 'His head and the way he looks is your little boy when he's grown up.'
And then I read the text below the picture and laughed as I found out that you called this character Benji - which is the name of my little Haflinger foal

Thank you! I don't normally draw stocky breeds, but I find them more natural to draw, so Benji was fun.

Thanks very much! I know, I experiment with new techniques on almost every picture. 
It took me a while to get used to Haflingers, but it was really fun to draw one, and now I think I'm getting a soft spot for them.

I don't know how you do this, but your use of light an colors is stunning. I love the rich chestnut color and it's contrast with the background. + The picture is telling a story .
