with your color exploration, it might be a really interesting experiment to try the exact same color gradations but with a completely random color, like blue...

I find oil so hard to work with, you have a way with making it soft where it needs to be. Wonderful.

I'll let you in on a secret: I suck at oils when I paint like oil painters. If I treat them like pastels or colored pencils on the end of a brush, I am much happier.
