This series of pictures is a OC mass effect story where Shepard have created a disruption in the dimensional balance of the universe and lands in an alternative universe where the Reapers never existed. Many events therefore turns out differently and the people of the universe are shaped differently by the events, sometimes becoming very different from the originals.Also the year is 2191, 5 years after ME3 original timeline
Liara became a politician early in her life, she is a great aspirer for peace and cooperation. Some say she became a politician because her mother, Matriarch Benezia is a spectre who still serves to this day.
The woman Liara is meeting is fellow politician Karida Anderson, wife to the first human spectre David Anderson, Karida is a politician who much like Liara is trying to re-open negotiations with the Turian Empire, a goal Karida's husband doesn't support.
And then there is Falere, Liara's assistant. The youngest daughter of Wrex and Samara.

Liara doesn't look like she's into peace, love and hugging trees here, rather, she seems suspicious and full of anger. Nice dress though.
Her assistant isn't any more welcoming either, lol.

That's the problem when you basically rewrite the universe, I keep forgetting to include the more minor but still relevant pieces of information when I post these.
Despite that Karida is one Liaras closest associates, she doesn't trust her but has never made a secret of it. This is due to Karida both being married to a Spectre, an organization Liara despises, and being the lover of one of the citadel councillors who is a strong voice against the Turian Empire. She also don't agree with Karidas methods.
But very few other politicians on the citadel share her ideology as close as Karida so Liara can't afford to not work with her.
