AT LAST IT IS COMPLETED!!! I have wanted to do a picture of this scene from "Evita" for a long time! This is one of my favorite movie-musicals, and "Don't Cry For Me Argentina" is my favorite song! 75% of this picture was done on Paintshop Pro, I hand drew Eva, the microphones, and parts of the balcony. The chandelier...that chandelier was a PAIN! I took me forever to get the right look! Lighting was very important in this picture. It was done as two layers so there would be light behind her and the spotlight focused on her from the front.I'm not sure how accurate this is to the movie, but overall I am very pleased with the final product!

Fue quien dio derechos a los más humildes, quien peleó contra la oligarquía que entregaba nuestra patria al imperialismo yanqui, quien hasta el último aliento dio su vida y sus fuerzas para que el pueblo argentino pudiera hoy disfrutar de los mismos derechos que esos gorilones oligarcas que en estos días nos quieren llevar nuevamente al oscurantismo del conservadurismo. I hope people don't get the wrong idea...Eva Duarte de Perón was definitively NOT like Madonna's musical.
She was an amazing woman, that did a lot for my country.
Oh, btw, if you liked MAdonna's version of Evita, you should check "Nacha Guevara"'s one.
She's perfect as that character.

My Spanish teacher had us watch Evita because we were studying South America. Thanks to her, I bought the album and now I'm addicted!

I don't wanna be mean... But your Spanish teacher knows nothing about Latin America if she gives that crappy film to teach about us, I mean... It's not a real story and Evita was not like she's shown... Look "Diarios de Motocicleta", "Eva Perón" (Ester Goris is much more like her... And Evita loved Perón over EVERYTHING!), "El secreto de sus Ojos" and "La historia Oficial"... That will teach you a lot more of us, argentinians =3

lmfao, yeah she doesn't even teach at our school anymore. And no musical is ever accurate, but it doesn't take away from the fact that some of the songs are good and that it did get me interested in finding out more about her. The real Eva Peron, I mean, not just the one portrayed by Madonna.

And i don't know exactly to which country to pin it down, but the animated movies "The Legend of the Titanic" and "Titanic: The Legend Goes On" have the same relation with the real history of the Titanic tragedy.

To put in perspective, the Madonna musical version of Evita has as much to do with the real history of my country as the Disney Animated Canon movie "Pocahontas" has to do with the real history of the United States of America and the Don Bluth movie "Anastasia" has to do with the real history of Russia.
