Description Minecraft cake!

So the soil was just chocolate cake.
I used devils food cake mix, but expected it to rise. So I'd suggest keeping that in mind when you choose the tin it's going to bake in

The stone was butter, marshmallows, rice krispies, and grey food colouring. This was the easiest to make, didn't need to go in the oven, but was the stickiest to assemble later!

The sand was flapjack made with brown sugar, butter, maple syrup and oats. They came out okay, but a bit crumbly so if you know how to make them a little more sturdy... Otherwise they will come out like mine.

And the water was blue Jell-O which you can buy on Amazon (and it tastes amazing) I put in slightly less water so that it would hold more consistency. My original plan was to have it flat like Minecraft, but it proved very difficult to move and I'd already assembled the rest of the cake. So I'd suggest doing the jello first, leaving it in the fridge, and when it's set, cut out what you don't need and assemble the cake in there.

Lastly, my blocks are 4 cm x 4 cm x 4cm. This means that the flapjack didn't crumble entirely, but I could get a good scoop of stone. It's worth keeping in mind when you check how tall each mixture is. I also washed up a ruler, and used that to do both the measuring and the cutting.

Also, not everything was cut into a single block. For the base, some were cut into blocks of 2/3 blocks, just for a stronger foundation.

And lastly, the grass. Dessicated coconut, icing, and green food colouring. Mix it together and slap it on. I used gel food colouring, so a little water was added too. Just a splash.
