The Ears Have It (WIP) (2006-present)

As you can see from the dates... I've been at this one for awhile.

It has a ways to go.

I'm using a couple of tutorials for this: one I can point everyone to, and one that is coming out of a book... so I can only describe it in general terms.

The hair is based on a tutorial by enayla (Linda Bergkvist). I didn't follow the tutorial exactly as she paints in Photoshop and I paint mostly in Painter, but the basic process was the same. The tutorial is on her personal website: www.furiae.com/index.php?view=… - but be sure to visit her dA page, too - she does fantastic work!

The skin is a bit more problematic. I'm using a trick i found in a book published by ImagineFX magazine where you shade the skin tones as usual, but then you overlay a skin texture from a photo on top of the shading to add the texture... I still need to work on that bit... (Feb. 2024 Update: I decided to take the textures provided in the render... since they're already present.]

Pay no attention to the background... that's just the one I use as a stand-in until I go back and paint a new one later. [How much later? Who knows... Still needs doing.]

Updated Feb. 2024... Painted hair in both Photoshop and Painter, and added shading to her garment. Skin textures done with adjustment layers in PS. Placeholder background still in place.

Though not cannon (yet), this represents Tara... the Medean Elf mother of Heather, Leiah (and Melanie, though she hasn't quite come to grips with that yet), in the beginning stages of a centauride transformation.
