Description One March morning in Seoul near Won Ho's house

I have never understood why people faved this shot, but here is what one deviant commented (or perhaps three deviants or perhaps one deviant with three inhabitants in their brain!)

Well, if this was the street in front of my own house, I might feel differently about it

But a significant part of my liking thiat shot is that it's an exotic location, on the other side of the world. Someplace I'll probably never go.

BUt that alone isn't enough, There's many photos of strange places I never Fav. On this one you have a fairly decent composition, and a good Depth of Field, detail can be made out all the way down the street. The light colored sepia gives a nostalgic mood to the piece, along with the graininess.

Never underestimate the power of a good street life shot.

it reminds me of seoul streets... I miss walking there
... it really shows the part where you can't see anywhere except if you have been there

amazing. thanks very much.

I'm very surprised to be getting favs on it. I scanned in the film negative last night and turned it into a duotone in photoshop.

I was not quite sure what people saw in it and why they were faving it. I mean, to me, it has sentimental value, but not to anyone else.

A friend of mine once spoke of universal ideas and truths, I think this sort of street scene appeals to anyone who has ever lived in a large city.

You did a very fine job with it

well, I am amazed. I did not think it was such a great shot when I took it, and when I posted it, I mainly did it because it was near Won Ho's house and I have fond memories of my visit with his family.

People have been faving it, which I thought was odd -- but then, I saw it in someone's favorite gallery, and actually "saw" it -- the composition of diagonal lines receding into the distance, the vertical buildings juxtaposed to the myriad telephone lines opposite them -- many of the elements pulled together into one harmonious "whole" -- and then I could see why people were faving it.

It is a very nice composition.

it made me especially happy to hear your comments about it.
