Inspired by Axis Power Hetalia (APH), as in the idea of personifying countries. So I suppose this can be considered an APH fan comic? Just with non-canon-existent characters, since Singapore and Malaysia didn't appear in APH.
I think I was overcome by too many feels from other fandoms. And then I went to read some books. And then I suddenly realized that Singapore and Malaysia would be a freaking angstfest if they existed in APH-verse.
Singapore and Malaysia here are just hastily designed. I didn't really put much thought into character designing. Sowwee.
Damn you APH, making me ship countries together.
I decided not to draw Japan after all.

I don't know much about Great Britain's rule in Singapore and Malaya...but yeah, you hit his performance against Japan spot on. With 120,000 troops prisoner, and two capital warships on the bottom of the Pacific, it's the reason Singapore is Britain's worst defeat.

AND THEY RAN AWAY AFTER HAPPILY SNARKING TO US THAT THE JAPANESE WERE USELESS AND COULDN'T DO ANYTHING actually evidence has shown that the if the British general hadn't surrendered we would've won because the Japanese couldn't last any longer.
On the brighter side though, at least the Brits gave us + Malaya better training and equipment to start building our own country and become independent as compared to like Indonesia and Vietnam which had to wage war on the Dutch and French respectively because they just wouldn't let them be independent.

AND THEY HAD THE GUTS TO COME SNEAKING BACK IN LIKE NOTHING HAD HAPPENED ( from what I have learnt, the hired British soldier actually fled from the battlefield during the Japanese invasion) after leaving us for 14 days of terror after the Japanese surrendered because of the HIroshima and Nagasaki bombing.
And because of that, most of the more well educated Malayan's began the act of Nationalism to start people's awareness over their rights.

Hmm I'm not sure what happened on the Malayan side as well (I presume you're from Malaysia?) but yeah I think it was generally the same. For Singapore it was ridiculous. Singapore would've won easily if the British hadn't pointed the freaking guns towards the South when the Japanese were coming on BICYCLES from the north

I really like what you're doing so far! A nice dramatization of history accurately, and even though I know what's going to happen (because otherwise I'm typing this from the past xD), it's gonna be really interesting seeing how you handle this!

Unfortunately, I can't draw. I make use of a program called Create.swf to pre-make my own characters and stuff. So my talents are mostly in the stories of the works.
Hence why I'm really interested to know where this is going! ^^

I've actually been waiting for this page, so happy when i saw it was out. I wanted to see how others depict our history, and it is pretty accurate 
When we learnt about General Percival surrendering us, and the fact that Yamashita kinda like bluffed the British because they had lesser resources than the British actually and knew they couldn't win if the British decided to fight, I was all like "Wait doesn't that mean if we didn't surrender and decide to fight it out we would probably win and there would be no Japanese Occupation and all that?"
Your style of drawing is really nice, with all that monochrome and stuff. Good job!

Nope - but I know Singapore surrendered in 1942, and the Japanese entered Malaysia before they went to Singapore, so it can't possibly be 1943.
