yes, urea, but no it isn't piss. people ask me that all the time. it's actually a synthetic version of the compound i think used in the tie dye manufacturing business

if you have ever used salt on a watercolor painting, it has similar effect. in higher concentrates it will grow in a crystalline pattern.

Yeah, its similar to using salt in watercolor. my teacher in undergrad had a cart with all sorts of media on it that we could use...i liked urea a lot and still use it.
