Description For lack of a better title This is a request I got from ~LadyJinx a long time ago, and you know, I didn't even ask her if she wanted Simba and Nala as cubs are adults :/ This is just what came to mind when I got the request. She's also my oldest dA friend and I can't believe I haven't done something for her yet. Hope you like it though hun. And congrats on graduation!!

This took well over two weeks to do, and I realize the perspective is disastrous, and I can't stand how Simba came out, but I didn't try to fix him because I was afraid I'd mess him up even more, and he's also bigger than Nala and I'm not understanding why I didn't start him over. The background gave me the biggest heart attack though I couldn't find any tutorials for how I wanted to do the ground so I just did the best I could at it. I like how the clouds came out though. I used references from a picture I took for them ! I got lazy with the grass yes Hope this pic is a good view for everyone anyways

This is amazing! Worthy of the movie itself, it's that lovely. The colours, the style, the mood, everything, it's perfect! It looks good to me, though I think I see what you mean with perspective and size issues. I like the ground.

Thanks so much! I try Well since I'm not very good at it, nor very clean at it yet, and since I couldn't find any good tutorials to use, I browse art or look for reference pics on how the background is done, but I never copy, as that's unoriginal and considered as a stolen idea. But since I'm not familiar with these landscapes I needed picture references, and in this case I used some from the movie. I look at how the land is leveled and how the ground would look, as rugged or smooth or rocky etc. In this picture it's more of a desert reference so I studied how the ground would look in an African desert and so on, and it takes planning out instead of just going ahead and starting it without a clue, since that'd be frustrating and would take you even longer on the pic. I also look through the galleries of several really good artists here and see how they do backgrounds and I play in my mind over and over again how they could of gotten it that way. It takes time to learn, and it takes a long time to draw and plan it out as well. The same case for the clouds. I used references bascially for the fluffyness and the coloring of the cloud and how it'd be in a more realistic way instead of just the bubbly puffy ones with little detail. They took me a while to do just because I'm not used to doing detailed work, but with patience and practice you can do anything. I'd also recommend looking through a lot of tutorials. I'd be a lost artists without the use of those ^^ Hope this helps, and if you have any more questions feel free to ask

Aww, thanks <3 I just browse a lot of artwork and think about how it's done and how to stylize it. It takes time, but I'm defninitely learning, and don't worry, you will someday

They look so happy here. I love them as cubs, when they play and it's sunny and there's just nothing wron with the world. Great job on the aridity of the background, too.
