It happens often to me :everytime I could take a good screenshot the cursor and the compass are on screen.

yeah ^^ "Before taking a screenshot try opening console and type "tm". It hides all the menus, and the console itself. When you're done type "tm" again (the console is invisible, but still active, unless you closed it after typing the first command) to make everything visible again." told me that, I hope it helps ^^
