Description The sounds of war echoed around Acornpaw’s tiny head. She couldn’t really say what had caused her to run after Shadowflight as he had sped out of camp after Dunepaw’s announcement, but it had lead to this bloodied patch of earth. Many cats’ bodies already litter the ground, their blood flowing into the small steam that ran near by.

Acornpaw had frozen when the site had first hit her eyes. The scene was too much for her. Her statuesque state must have attracted attention in the whirlwind of fight cats, for a she-cat with brown-black dappled fur came barreling toward Acornpaw. Acornpaw quickly snapped out of her own dark thought and tried to put Twilightmask’s training to use.

Using her height to her advantage, Acornpaw darted to the side only to roll under the she-cat’s belly. “At least my height’s good for this…” she thought as she began scratching the she-cat’s soft belly. The DawnClan cat shrieked in pain and surprise, then jumped and landed on Acornpaw. Acornpaw squealed as the air left her lungs and she felt the cat on top of her begin to bite at her neck.

“Am I going to die here?” Acornpaw thought hopelessly. Think back to the bodies strewn about the battlefield, she felt fear tug at her heart. No, she wasn’t going to die here and now, not if she could help it. As Acornpaw began to struggle, she heard a yowl. She felt the weight of the DawnClan she-cat lift up enough for Acornpaw to wiggle out. She looked up to see a tall white tom.

“Dogpaw! Thank you!” She mewed gratefully.

“No problem!” he meowed back.

Thinking quickly she asked, “Do you want to tag-team?” Their height difference would through off any cat fighting them at the same time.

“Sure! Let’s go!”
