I really like how strong the saturation is there.. it's quite interesting how it contrasts with the blue of the background, except there's a slight pinkish/purplish hue that surrounds the body before it does that, which makes it more intriguing.

The angle and point of view are both awesome. I like the way you've caught it this way as if to show a different side or view of things, which could reflect the concept and message of this, perhaps...

I like the way you've framed and executed the shot. I guess it could be more balanced where the colours and the lighting are concerned, but it's not bad all in all... I like the shadows there already and how much depth they add here.

Thankyou for your comment, i was indeed trying to show a different angle of the bearded dragon that reflected his personality, and the colours are due to the red head lamp and a uv bulb which normally hinders a photo because its so bright but in this case together the 2 lights seemed to work.

Critique away! First of all, let me tell you I adore the colours. They're very striking, and with the scaly textures, they create a very strange mood - I like it! There's two things that are holding this one back, though. First and foremost; the crop. Why did you go with a square? It kills any movement the piece had, and that's a shame. Second is also about the movement, and mostly the angle. By lowering it even slightly, maybe tilting it a little, you could've portrayed a lot of depth and movement, somethough that undoubtedly would've added to this piece.

So, basically; with a little more experimentation, I think this one could go a long away. Good luck!
