I'm not entirely sure if the art is criticism towards religion in general, or anti vaxxers. If you want my response, I'm assuming he's referring to people not getting vaccines for religious reasons. In a way, this could be frustrating because their kids won't get it either. So let's say we have a vaccine for the coronavirus. It's probably a good idea that children and the elderly (the most vulnerable to the virus) get that shot prevent being sick. Let's be honest. People are disgusting and don't wash their hands. Other than isolation, What other way do we have to deal with this pandemic?

You're reading too much into it. First off, the typical antivaxxers are extreme libertarian conspiracy theorists who think vaccines are an excuse for the government and big pharma to drug your kids, not "religious zealots". Second, none of that is in the picture. Both it and the title and description just say "religion". Except in this case, the cartoonist fails to explain what makes the religious person the bad guy. Strawman comics are inherently bad, mind you, but even worse than a regular strawman comic, is a strawman comic that doesn't even try to make the strawman look bad, because the cartoonist is under the delusion that holding a specific view is in and of itself bad, and everybody agrees with them on that.Β

Ok, sure. Antivaxxers usually believe conspiracy theories about vaccines, religious zealots are the same way. Not all religious people are like that but a couple are. Given the definition of religious zealots, you can kinda put 2 and 2 together.

The "religious zealot" in this question didn't do anything that establishes him as the bad guy, which strawman comics usually do (and yes, this is a strawman comic - that's the format this guy was going for). Also you can't argue that this is intended to be a fetish comic, because those usually don't have half-assed political shit shoehorned into them.
