Oh my god I have been meaning to update Sy's ref forever. >__< I might still redraw the anthro form (Sy you are a derp) but I've been procrastinating updating his ref for several months. ..Actually probably more like a year. I originally meant to make it much more dynamic, but I ended up redrawing everything several times until I was like, 'fffFFFFFFFFFF Well regardless, he looks a lot better now'Old ref: [link] (Up a little longer for the lulz)

Poor Sy. XDDD;; He's my oldest character who's still in use, so he's pretty special to me. (Even if I don't draw him RELIGIOUSLY anymore. ;3; or if I end up messing something up on his ref every time)
Interestingly too, the majority of my characters (major, minor, etc) ended up being connected to him in some way or another. Related, know him, know of him, etc.
Tower and the Nailangel are his sions, which is why they look like him. Actually if you want more examples of his hair, you should check out THEIR refs XDD
He is also in a time paradox. Lucky him! 8D

OH YEAH ONE MORE THING SINCE SOMEONE ASKED:
Greater Shapeshifters stop aging after a point. (In fact, they don't even die of old age since their bodies remain so elastic for shapeshifting) Which is why he looks so young. XD

It's really, really cool to see an updated ref for him! 8] Especially now that you've been putting a bunch more infos on your refs, nomnomnom. <33 (god though, has it really been so long since that last one? XDD; it doesn't feel like it! I still remember when you posted that. ..annnd the one before it.) His human form turned out very nicely! 8D Especially his hair and that face especially; I REALLY LIKE how you draw peoplefaces (and just... people in general, actually), and it's been so cool to see your style there change and progress over time. <33 You've improved a lot, especially since that last ref! And back to this one, I also like how nice and friendly he looks here with his expression, awww. Despite his background and his temper, he's always seemed like a genuinely nice guy to me; and I've always really liked that about him. ;33; Iiii also like the folds on his shirt, that shoe, and for some inexplicable reason, the cuffs on his coat. 8] *has always thought his coat has such a cool design, arghhh! seriously, isn't sure if it's those cuffs, or the flaps in front or the tall collar or what, but has always found it to be awesome- it's such a neat 'signature' item for him, and it never gets old to look at.* .....I'm also finding myself very drawn to the shoulder on his anthro form, and the ears, too. I like that pose there! (and ohhhh my god, that drawing of his anthro form from the back is still insanely pretty, ahhhhhahahaha! 8D why do you have such a nice looking back and fur pattern, Sy, why)
Also, I like all the infos you put on here! I know it's always really tricky to figure out what to type, but I think it's a good summary; and even if there's nothing new on there to me specifically, it's always nice having it all in one spot like this. 8] *has really, really liked all the infos you've been putting on your refs now!* I was also looking back over the site and everything you had there, and saw that picture of Sy and his racing baby again. *was dying pretty bad* ohhhh my godddd, yep, Sy has the best/most special sense of humor ever. XDDD
Oh yeah, also! I can't tell if it's just my monitor being weird or not, but is that a slight hint of corrugated cardboard texture going on in the background? o33o

This ref was...really hard for me to do, so I'm glad you like it! The human form went through one entire redraw, and I'm stiiiiiiiill not sure about the anthro form. XDD But thank yoouuuu. ;333; My progress with drawing humans has been really slow (I guess because I've been drawing animals for SUCH A LONG TIME and the humans just came in afterwards), but i think I've been doing good! I...used to be so embarrassed with them that I wouldn't upload them anywhere XDD Except occasionally lj.
BUY SY IS NICE AND FRIENDLY...usually, so ..yes, I thought I'd reflect that here. He does try to do the right thing. ...Usually.

Also, you know!! His coat has been around forever and the design hasn't really changed much. I'm actually not sure why I started drawing it like that to begin with, except maybe that was what my idea of a trenchcoat looked like way back when. I still have no idea with his anthro form. That's actually changed a bit.

I had the worst time trying to figure out wtf I was going to write here, since Sy has so much going on, so I'm glad you like it all. <3333 I feel weird leaving a lot of blank spaces on refs now so I have to fill them up with lots and lots of text.

But yay, you updated it! This is such a nice ref you've got here. It's nicely laid out, being informative and attractive with a good color scheme. But Sy as a character is just fantastic. I like how he manages to have this level of badassness, yet at the same time he is also deeply flawed. There are those things that he just ISN'T good at, and I like that. Though I do admit, if he was my dad I'd be pretty honored. Hehehe.
(unless he's one of those dads that tries to act cool in front of his kids, only to spit out a geeky, outdated phrases ohgodwhy)
I'll be sure to check out the other info on your site, but until then I've got a couple questions for ya. First off, would you mind explaining the age thing to me? Did he do something to reach a status of immortality, or did he just stop aging at one point? Also, what kind of music does he like?! :'D
My critique would be that it's a tiny bit jargony in places. Somebody unfamiliar with your characters or world would have no idea what Sions are, or Five. If you'd explained these things, like you did in the Megapsychic paragraph, that would've been really helpful. Also, the text is a little bit hard to read in places: dark on dark.
Ah fantastic reference though, glad to see this one up to date. Good work, Ghost!

Thank you! He's actually been changed a lot over the years. When I first started RPing with him in high school, he was...I don't even know. Uber godmodder. strong, good at everything, all around awesome and perfect in every way, etc. I've been working pretty hard to knock him WAY down, so I'm really glad to hear that. <333 He is much more interesting when he has issues. 8T
Oh yeah, I knew I forgot to write something in the description. XDDD His species doesn't age because their bodies are SO elastic for shapeshifting, so they stop growing somewhere between 20-30 (occasionally older). Whiiiich is why he looks so young. Shapeshifters are kind of tricky folks because it's hard to tell exact family relationships with a group like Sy + his kids. Are they all brothers? Is one of them a parent/uncle/grandfather? What's a tactful way to ask!? 8'D
He likes all sorts of music, but especially electronic (like Cody) and rock!
Well, all of my refs are like that though XDDD I don't like HUGE blocks of infospamming, so if they want to figure out the jargon or learn more, then they could just go to the rest of my gallery (or the site) and figure it out. (If anything I see it as an incentive to go browse more, ffffhahahaha >8D)
It IS dark in some spots though, so I'll probably fix it later.

Ugh yeah seriously I was like that, too. When I was younger I used to think that the best characters were those who OVERFLOWED WITH AWESOME. Some of the characters from my Emalia series still show this, hehe. But nowadays my favorite characters-- whether my own or others'-- are those with a good arsenal of FLAWS. The more fail the better!
Ah rambling. You're most certainly welcome though, and thank you for answering my questions. That's really neat how your worlds' shapeshifters work; they definitely have a unique biology, I do say! One thing that popped into my head just now: what about the kids' mother? Judging by your string of self-direction questions there, I'm all of a sudden questioning whether or not they even HAD a mother?

Well...Sy is the product of some genetic engineering (which is why he has some psychic ability) so HE doesn't really have a mother, but his kids do! Her name was River, and she and Sy had quite the falling out, so heeee doesn't really like to talk about her. XD;;

I love Sy. He's a fascinating character with so many funny little quirks (I am always amused by the clashing sides of his personality. Like...loves cats, also loves cursing. 
I don't think I ever before retained the information that Sy has psychic abilities. That's pretty awesome! I wonder what would happen when if he and Zeke were ever to meet. It would be like..."I'M READIN' YOUR MIND." "NO, I'M READING YOURS, GO AWAY. D|"
I've seen that back-view anthro Sy before, but I don't know if I've ever said how much I love that picture. He looks really badass there somehow. Something about the way his hand is placed and his head is ducked I guess. xDD Anyway, wanted to mention that.
Just out of curiosity, didn't he used to have some sort of wires that crossed over the back of his coat and hitched on his shoulders?

His psychic abilities are...yeeeeah. He doesn't really use them much (besides telepathy...and teleport, but he tries not to do THAT much because Subore thinks that is the best thing ever and wants to go for a 'ride' that way) because he has issues, but! XD

Yesss, actually they're still there sometimes, but I didn't draw them on the sheet! I only draw them on when his coat is closed up, but I hardly ever draw him like that anymore, and then drawing the wires/??? just hanging always looked cluttered. Tower's always got them though!
