I don't know if this is something other kids with multiple sibling go through, but for me it always felt like favorites were assigned to me. I said I liked the color green once as a four year old and then everything for the rest of my life was color coded green even though I already had a different favorite color within a week. I hated green for awhile. I associated it with having the freedom to make a choice taken away from me. I'm okay with green now but its still definitely one of my least favorite colors. I don't know if it has something to do with being a middle child or if its just the way my family was structured. When I became an adult I realized I wasn't the person I was at all. Almost every aspect of me was something I was told I liked and I just became complacent with it. Anyway this is a lot for just a little doodle of a game character from my childhood but the game made me feel childlike excitement all over again like the four year old that fell in love with it in 2005. It also made me mourn for that kid and all the shit it had to endure in the years following to grow into me. It made me mourn for that kids best friend and how she went from someone I looked up to and loved to someone who ruined my life. Someone who haunts my dreams and keeps me in fear even today that she could just show up again and hurt the people I love. I wish I could have shared the experience of this game with that kid, but time changes people and its been 18 years. I would rather die than share it with the person that kid is today. Anyway Ichigo has always been my favorite even though she wasn't allowed to be back then. I love the subtle redesign, even though she's shaped less like a berry I think the pink makes up for it. pink is my favorite color now btw, has been for awhile. not green.
