Description My mature Grammostola rosea male of the red colour form, Dmitry. I've had him since April of 2009, when he was just a 1/2" sling. It's taken four and a half years, but he's full grown and mature! And such a gorgeous colour too. The sad thing is that now he has only a short while more to live - compared to females - and somewhere within 6 months to 2 years from now (it all depends on various factors like temperature, food etc.) he will pass away. Had he been female, I could have had him another decade or two. My big boy is all grown up! <3

I have a baby red colour myself. I can't wait until she or he grows up. So tiny right now!

I have a male OBT I treasure a lot, his name is George : )

That they are. Hoping one of my two new babies is a female.

What a pretty guy!  Too bad you cannot send him my to breed with my big girl, Jovia.

Looking good! Do you have a female to mate him with?

I have a mature female normal G. rosea but I'm not particularly interested in mating them, not to mention she's sooo much bigger and would totally make a snack out of him hah. Besides, what would I do with 500 rosie babies!

Sell them? Easily more than 90% of all mature rosies are wild caught! I will be breeding some rosies soon for that exact reason.
But don't mix colour forms (they might actually be a seperate species, although a scientific revision may never happen)
The difference in size doesn't really matter when mating If receptive the female will let him do his job. She may try and munch him afterwards if he doesn't escape in time. But it's rather uncommon in rosea matings.

I don't really live in an area where tiny baby rosie's would be of much interest to anybody. You really need to be passionate about T's to be willing to wait 4 years for a full sized spider

It's kinda of a shock to realize how long I've been keeping my little eight-legged lieblings, seems like just yesterday they were these tiny fragile little things.
