Description
This is a picture I did last October of 's kitten Isis in oil pastel. The pose is taken from this thing that she does sometimes, usually when she wants something or if she wants to play or... get into trouble. She does this kind of like clapping thing or as her humans call it, her praying thing. She does kind of look like a praying mantis when she does it and it's silly. But yeah that's what the pose is supposed to be but it came out more like she was trying to do martial arts oh well. This was my first time doing a black cat in oil pastel and it took some figuring out on how to get the edged of her legs and such to show up against the rest of her body instead of blending in. I think I've improved on this with the picture I'm currently working on which is my Aunt and Nana's black cat Pepper. Unfortunately I didn't get any good pictures of this picture of Isis before I left it at 's house and I tried to enhance the photo's to make it brighter and clearer to see but that didn't work too well. It' looks a lot better in person. A lot of these oil pastel pictures are cats in fact all of them except Fiona are cats... two of which are my Aunt and Nana's cats.
