For some reason the colors of these two Pokemon fascinate me.

Yeah I wanted diversify the colour range a bit, I'm not a huge fan of the mega's for both of them being the same colour. Like I get the idea, red and blue together make purple so it's actually very fitting but to me I don't think it was executed amazingly unfortunately.

hello Peranti, not much time for "UPDATE" replies?, anyway... apparently Latios and Latias are based on the Aeons from Gnosticism, essentially conceptual, primordial forces which in most dualistic systems are coupled in male-female pairs called syzygies.
there is a connection here, but the Eon duo are draconic than abstract-looking.

great!, better color selection than the real ones.
i can imagine the two megas to have improved powers, like... shapeshifting into humans including pokemon, but being capable of shapeshifting into every human being from this planet, also they can use their psychic sight sharing even in crowds of people to let them see what Latios or Latias sees, they can turn completely invisible to the point they can make some of their attacks invisible too, like projecting invisible large forcefields and invisible dragon pulses.
