Description
I'm currently studying costume design at AFTRS, and as an excercise we had to pick a film and re-design the costumes to change the tone ofthe film. I chose Dune, since the novel is my favourite book of all time. I created 10 illustrations that I felt made the overall feel more feudal and steeped in history - with inspiration from a variety of different eras in costume history, from Moroccan to Georgian design.

I liked the streamlined simplicity of a long coat, and I drew a lot of inspiration from Georgian traditional costume for the Atreides house uniforms. I thought it'd be a nice touch to have ranks quilted into the Atreides uniform shoulders - Leto has the red hawk, the symbol of House Atreides.

Total time taken was around 2 hours in Photoshop.
