Description Happy Indigenous People's Day!!! Did you know that Robin is Native American? His grandfather is fully native but his grandmother is Caucasian making his dad only half Native. Though you can't tell in this drawing if you've seen Robin before you know that he has red hair. His hair is naturally red despite being 1/4 Native American and this is possible in real life. You can find some images online of people of African or East Asian descent with natural red hair. It's somewhat uncommon but it can happen!

I think I've always wanted a big part of Robin's character to be his identity specifically around his mixed blood. He doesn't look Native American but he still holds a lot of beliefs that have been carried down through his Native culture. Being raised by a white mother and the majority of his family being white, however, he was also raised with a lot of European beliefs as well. A lot of people with mixed blood say that a big issue for them is finding where they fit and because they aren't just one ethnicity they feel pressured to conform to one identity and leave the other behind.

It's a really heavy topic so I've been staying away from talking about it just because I want to know that everything I'm saying is 100% and fits the experiences of people with mixed blood or those who are of Native descent. At the end of the day I want Robin's character to teach people that you shouldn't have to act one way and pretend to be someone you are not to gain other's respect or love.
