A member of a re-enactment group representing the Union Cavalry of the American Civil War during a UK event in 2005. The saddle cloth indicates the 9th New York Cavalry Regiment. In looks, this chap reminds me a bit of old Hank Worden who used to be in the John Ford films (although never as an officer as I recall - remember 'Fort Apache'?). Anyway, he looks the part in my opinion!

I thought a picture of a summer's day might help to cheer up those of us who are suffering grim weather at the close of the year.......
