Description

On March 28, 2018, Unit 150238 has arrived at Gunnislake ‘new’ station, dating from the 1990s. The former station (rarely for Cornwall having pedestrian access by subway) was further on, across the A390 road, trains arriving over a low bridge. With the new station being built short of the A390, the low bridge, and the old station, were demolished.

Since 1966, Gunnislake has been the terminus of this branch line. Prior to that, trains continued on past the trees in the distance, under a bridge, and called at Chilsworthy, Latchley, Seven Stones Halt (closed during the First World War), Luckett and finally Callington (actually in Kelly Bray, a mile from the town).

The driver will shortly ‘change ends’ for the return run to Bere Alston.
