Description Stephenson's Rocket on display in a dark corner of the National Railway Museum on September 23, 2020. Surely such an iconic locomotive could be better displayed? The open ceiling and the exposed pipework and lagging don't help at all. This is the original RocketΒ of 1829, modified with lower cylinders and a smokebox after its initial period of service, and not the yellow-painted replica so beloved of Kitmaster, Hornby and the public at large.

I suppose you're right.
But I'm just saying if the engine did have a steam whistle. It would probably be a very good idea.
That's just my opinion.
