Seen from the flats above the station, former LMS Stanier pacific No. 46229 'Duchess of Hamilton', clad in British Railways crimson livery, lifts the down 'Shakespeare Limited' out of London Marylebone on May 26, 1985.There is a modicum of interest at the platform, and two adventurous souls have climbed higher, but the chap polishing his car is not distracted.......

The man surely saw the loco in the reflection of the windshield, or at least heard something that didn't sound like an automobile!

I don't think the high wall was conducive to train spotting for him! But I think, if it were me down there, I would at least have glanced up at the cloud of steam!
