My first ASOIAF artwork featuring Sansa Stark and Sandor Clegane, the Hound, in their Battle of the Blackwater scene in King's Landing.All characters belong to GRRM.
I love this pairing (obviously, if I spent all this time creating this) so please, no character hate in the comments. Thank you!

Really love your version of Sandor here, even though we can only see the unburnt right side of his face. Fantastic job on his infamous scowl and his large hooked nose! Sure, you may have made Sandor a bit more 'handsome' here than what many other artists seem to do, but personally, I do not feel he would have been nearly as 'ugly' as the way so many people seem to interpret from the books. When I made my own version of Sandor and Sansa, I ended up making him rather gorgeous, myself, even with the left side of his face severely scarred--which was not easy to do! My own mother was all "Scars� what scars?" when she saw it posted in my gallery LOL
I honestly, seriously,Β hate the way his scars are described in the books:Β 'slick black flesh with red oozing areas'--I mean, seriously, GRRM? Have you ever even seen real burn victims, George? Old burn scars do not look like that; fresh burns do! Sandor's scars were nearly twenty years old; they would have been pink with some areas closer to his natural skin color, not charred black!Β
Also, I definitely appreciate the way you made your Sandor book canon as opposed to the hairy Rory McCann HBO version. With half his face scarred, Sandor would only have half of a beard--who would want halfΒ of a beard?!? Especially considering how he tends to try covering his scars with his hair combed over towards the left side; I personally feel that Sandor is probably rather self-conscious of his scars and uses his rage to mask it.
By the way, beautiful work with the background; the colors and textures are wonderful.

Haha, right!?Β He's not my favorite character for nothin'.Β I try hard to make him menacing, but he always comes out way sexier than he probably should be (though I maintain defense that we're told his mug's pretty frightening by Ned and an 11-year old girl....so maybe not really the best judges).

He's supposed to be horrifically burnt- if you did that then maybe he'd look a little more menacing- rather than just giving him a couple of scars

As much as he HATES being called a knight, it'd be so ironic, and so like Martin, if Sandor was the only character in the series to win the heart of a fair princess.
...And maybe slay a dragon. With his fear of fire, it'd be even more heroic than it usually is.

The light coming from the windows is amazing! It is so bright and vivid, yet it is obviously nighttime. I don't know how you managed to pull that off.
