Description Mythology of the mythical blue rose that brings true love and happiness. This is brooch I made for a woman I've never even met who lives in Japan - the sister of my friend.
Her favorite color is blue, and from the story he told me about her, I admire the strength of her character very much. So, a blue rose, a wish of love and happiness for her and my friend's family it is.

That's really pretty I really like how you folded the petals, and the color is amazing! I love blue. Great job

Thank you. This folding method is what I figured out how to make when browsing a young Japanese kanzashi artist's blog. However the petal arrangement (in the middle) is my own ^^
I thing this is a new technique since roses should be migrated to Japan somewhere around the Bakumatsu era. It's really cute and easy to use with normal clothings, or Yofuku, and everyday items, so I'm happy that I can make it.

But you did an amazing job on it and I love the color you used!

'O' really?! I was introduced to this myth even before the "blue bird" one, and I am Asian. They say, in reality, that roses are too "sour" to be blue, something about the chemical balance inside a rose petal, though.
