They are a great couple. Now that Disney has made these books Legends, I wonder if we will ever find out what happens to Jax and friends.
Nice drawing!

This couple does need more love, and this is really nicely done - the shading is really effective, and gives the impression of soft lighting despite the lack of color. It's cool that you included her scars, and he's got a youthful, serene look. Good job!

You're welcome! I would totally draw Laranth more if I was better at art. What did you think of her role in The Last Jedi?

I think your art's just fine. Everyone has their own style.
The world needs more of these two. I've only found one fanfic of them, and this one is probably the only fanart of them around.
I did not like it. At all. It ruined my overall enjoyment of the book. I'm still annoyed until today. If Jax got killed in the end, I would've been perfectly fine, but it seems they're introducing Sacha and Magash just to 'replace' Laranth (my shipper feels are clouding my mind).
I did not enjoy Shadow Games either. It just feels ironic that when Reaves partnered up with a female co-author, his female characters somehow degraded instead (and even fridged one, no less!). I used to be a fan of his works...

I knooow. I was so sad that Laranth served as nothing more than a source of Jax's angst, especially after a really lovely scene with them in the beginning. Oh gosh, I hope that Sacha isn't going to be a "replacement" - I actually liked her well enough, considering her existence in a pretty mediocre book, but if she became a love interest too I might flip tables.
Shadow Games. I was so excited for that book, both because it had a Nautolan in it and because I wanted to meet this in-universe musician, but it did not deliver. The scene where she has to open and close her eyes on command is, like, my standard for what not to do with female characters.
It's a real pity that Reaves' latest books have been so lackluster, because I really loved MedStar and how it dealt with Barriss, as well as the earlier Jax Pavan books, although they were decreasing in quality even from the time the second one came out.
Maya Kaathryn Bohnhoff has written before about how she wants to write strong female characters, so I'm absolutely baffled at what she's done with Laranth in The Last Jedi. :/

Well, that's what fanon and fanfics are for. I only accept the first few pages as canon in my head. As for the rest, I wouldn't mind if Disney steamrolls them out of canon. Sadly, I think Maya hinted about that in her interview. She said she created more female characters so they would have chemistry with Jax if she were to write more books about him .
I must admit Shadow Games had its fun parts, but I did not like how it handled the female characters. I have no issue with non-fighter ladies (been reading/watching ASOIAF/Game of Thrones), but Javul was a little too dependent on Dash Rendar.
Darth Maul: Shadow Hunter is still my personal favorite. It annoys me somewhat that his last two books that I hated were more popular (or so it seems) than the previous ones that I loved (except Shadow Hunter - it was popular). After The Last Jedi, I immediately fled to the comic books. At least it has Knight Errant and Legacy II...
Oh yeah, I've read her blog, too. I can no longer take that particular post about 'Strong Female Characters' seriously now.

Oh man, I forgot all about Shadow Hunter. That was a good book. I really liked Darsha, and I'm a big Darth Maul fan.
Legacy II! I'm not caught up but I really like that series.
"I can no longer take that particular post about 'Strong Female Characters' seriously now." Yeah, it confuses me so much how she could have had such good intentions and then done, like, the opposite. -_-
