This series could definitely benefit from a recurring female character, especially one with ninja skills, something that was sorely lacking from the previous seasons.

It's a match made in heaven... bad news for Aku. Through their mutual lives stolen from them, Jack's purity of heart and quiet wisdom will show Ashi the way to freedom; and Ashi's fierce drive and willingness to get her hands dirty will reawaken Jack's calling and give him an edge he's never had against Aku.

Thank's what I like about Samurai Jack. The show takes a lot of old stories and cliche's and makes them new again. 50 years of getting nowhere has gotta take its toll and Ashi is a very welcome addition to the show.
