Well, yes and no. The symbol is the "Totenkopf" or "Death's dead" and was originally adopted, along with black uniforms, by the Husaren-Regiment Nr. 5 (later reformed into Leib-Husaren Regiments Nr.1 and Nr.2 in 1808) during the War of the Austrian Succession (1740). This is where Mackensen's uniform came from.
The Brunswick Ducal Corps, also know as the "Black Brunswickers",Β also adopted black uniforms and the Totenkopf in 1809 during the War of the Fifth Coalition against Napoleon. The Brunswick 92nd infantry regiment continued to wear the Totenkopf on their uniforms until being disbanded in 1918.
The Totenkopf was also worn by many others, such as the Garde-Reserve-Pionier-Regiment (the flamethrower troops) and the StoΓtruppen.

All of them. For example, since the body colour is white, you'll want to make the shading colour (which is dark grey) blend more. Watercolor brushes and blur tools work well for this.
