Description My scanner kept cropping off everything in the picture so I tricked it by taking a screenshot of the preview image. That's why the full-view isn't very large. My apologies.

This was actually the first one I did of my Chinese Legends series but I felt the coloring was kind of iffy and I didn’t do much with the design. Burning Leo still looks pretty much like how he always looks. :/

I actually don’t know a whole ton about this legend. So apparently this kid named 哪吒 dies, and gets reborn as a deity from a lotus flower. Not only that, he gets a pretty sweet ride: a burning wheel (sometimes depicted as two wheels). Just the fact that it’s a FLAMING wheel, made me think of Burning Leo. He's one of the helpers in the Kirby games that has the fire ability.

Like I said before, I’m not very impressed by this one but this was the original one of the series.

Tell me if you guys like the old paper texture instead of a clear white image. I'm still not quite sure if I really like it that much. For one thing, it hides all the color and especially little mistakes here and there.

It looks so cool, cute and ethnic, is that a sakura/cherry blossom at the bottom, yo always do the shading so goodly also I love the way you done the backround. The spear in the Burning Leo's hand looks epically epical. Keep the work up

Thank you! c:
It's a lotus flower. I think I should have drawn a little bit of water around it, now that I'm looking at it again.

Aww I love that legend! My mom would tell it to me every once in a while~ I watched this movie as a kid, still have a copy of it at home: [link] Old Chinese animation and music, yes, but it's really entertaining and tells his legend well <3 Awesome Burning Leo rendition btw, I love Kirby!!

I used to have a lot of these legend stories on disk that I'd watch, mostly 孙悟空, but I don't think I have a copy of this one. I love the old animations, better than a lot of the newer versions.

Is the correct pinyin Na Zha, or is it Na Zhe? My mom insists that it's Na Zhe... but... I don't know. I'm afraid I wrote it down wrong. The internet can't seem to decide either. :/

That's awesome! I love the Monkey King too! I also know one called The Lotus Lanturn, that one's really cool; It's a "journey-and-growth" story~

I always believed the correct pinyin to be Ne Zha according to sound; Na Zhe sounds too different, same with Na Zha. But that's just going off of sound My mom is fluent, and she told me that that was the proper pinyin as well. That's what I think, but who knows? lol
