Mah watrculr skilz - let me show u them.

Man, I could go on all day about this thing. First of all, I blame Bil Watterson. My laptop decided to overheat and shut down on me in the middle of writing a Sims chapter (which I forgot to save not three minutes beforehand,) so I gave up and read through "the Indispensable Calvin & Hobbes" for a while. I came across the Sunday comic of Calvin and Susie playing house, but drawn in the 'dramatic' comic strip style, and it sort of started my mind wandering off onto this.

I thought it funny how Susie knew that mothers come up with the babies, but had no clue how - she says she stopped at the hospital on the way home from work. That's a dedicated employee who pops out a kid in the morning and still puts in her eight hours. But this got me thinking of other stereotypes in playing house, and the one we see here is how the bigger/taller person is automatically the dad.

But that's where it becomes open to interpretation, at least for me. I'm not well-read on nagas or real snakes, and I write under the assumption that male nagas are (usually) smaller by nature than the females. So whether Sephie's claiming the role of mom or dad here, I leave up to you. But either way, mice don't like it when you point out that they get the 'small' role. He ought to consider himself lucky that Sephie doesn't make him the baby.

I love Zexy's doll and hand-me-down clothes. Mice have big families, doncha know. And Sephie's supposed to be playing with blocks in the first panel. I think he'd like them just so he could play Godzilla and smash them with his tail.
