Same pose is being used, but truth be told, I think I liked the facial structure of the old version with the longer chin and nose and she looks more inquisitive as if she's pondering. Not to take away from this picture as this picture is wonderful. They just feel like two different characters and this one is reenacting the old pose.
What I do like about this picture more is the use of colors and shading in this picture. The pale skin I can see works to the older one since I feel she's either sheltered or out of touch. This one feels more adventurous like she's ready to reach out and touch something.

I too prefer the structure of the first image; luckily this one didn't stray into a mainstream style at least. the skin color / form is better here..
In terms of color and shading, I was messing around in a sketchbook in drawing small images with a ballpoint pen. This time I started with pencil, outlined it and then colored it.. The new image is larger than the old one which gave me room to experiment more
