Wonderful detail on this. I think though I might have rotated it slightly so the blurred background was horizontal.

Thank you, I was actually using the 70mm-300mm that I own since I had to walk by this egret before I could get any shots of it - the birds there are people-shy as it should be, since people are discouraged from feeding them or messing with them.
