It occurs to me I don't draw enough men, let alone people of color, so here's a quicky digipaint of my "next lifetime" boyfriend, Common. My real life man is probably sick of "my crush", wait till he sees this. Hahah...Photoshop paint from ref (ETA from 75 pix wide image, GAH I need to find larger photos next time), 20 mins?

A lot of people have said to me that monochrome or grayscale art has gone out of fashion, but I think this art shows the genre is still very much alive.

People of colour? Hmmmm...let me think! White people can turn pale white, gray, blue in the face, pink, red in the face, tan, green (with lack of oxygen), etc. So, if you think about it, white people can turn more colours than any other race, sort of like a cameleon. So, in that context, who really are the coloured people?

Ah the joys of playing hopscotch the linguistic minefield regarding race and ethnicity. The lines keep getting redrawn by multiple people, while you are moving. There's even merit to asking if "white" or "euro" or "anglo" is as inadequate terms, if you pick it apart.
