Update because after almost 5 years she is still the work you all love the most here! thank youDear friends and watchers,
Avalon was the most magical place in the Arthurian legends. You could only get there if you could find the island through the mist. This elf is responsible for creating the mist.
I started to paint one of my moulin rouge girls and in the process I ended up with an elf. As an artist one does not always understand what it is when the painting takes over and gets a life of itself, those who paint will know this and I for one always obey my muse.
I dedicate this elf once again to my friend Ellen great lover of elves and friend extraordinaire.
Probably she will scold me a bit for dedicating another work to her, but she has sole owners rights to all my elves.
So this point is clear now.
I will not forget my other watchers, much more paintings and dedications will be made in the future, bear with me friends.
For the mists I used a brush from thanks it is a great one.
So enjoy my second elf and thanks in advance for all the favs and the sweet or constructive comments, all this is welcome.
I used a reference, some girl I googled inspired me, but I have lost the reference sorry.

Nice work! She looks handsome. Pay some attention on the angle of the head. I feel like we should see more of the under-the-chin area since she's looking up.

Certaines oeuvres sont belles...d'autres, comme celle-ci, prennent vie au contact des privilégiés qui les découvrent...
Votre Elfe est magnifique, l'harmonie et la douceur de la femme enfant....la finesse de ses traits, la délicatesse de son regard tout nous amène à imaginer la Féerie de son monde...
Voilà une quête qui mérite d'y passer tout une vie humaine, trouver les brumes d'Avalon, et croiser ne serais-ce qu'un instant les yeux lumières de votre belle parmi les belles...
Félicitation pour cette création crayonmaniac, elle explore les rêves oubliés de nos âmes d'enfant, elle rappelle la noblesse d'un Amour véritable...celui qui nous a été donné à l'aube des temps et que avons trop longtemps oublié...

Somehow I still find myself far more drawn to this version than your more updated one. I guess that the colors are more suited to the concept?

I adored that book
that is the reason why i climbed the Tor in 2010, pretty steep and exhausting climb but i had to stand there!
the view is breathtaking and the place is pure magic!

That novel was a decent influence on my own series (not as much as say, Jean M. Aul's stuff, or Michael Moorcocks stuff, or say Ursula K. Leguin, but still substantial... after I read it, I wanted to write more female characters. But I sucked at it, the only woman I remotely understood was my wife and even with her I didn't notice certain things.
Then I became a photographer... shot with so many models over the past decade and a half -- and not just the quantity, but the quality, and the repeat working with certain models. About 50+ models that I have done 6 or more shoots with -- and when you shoot tons of nudes with the same models it's intimate stuff, hours of talking, (and I am easy to talk to) so I hear deep thoughts, fears, and in some cases -- the deepest of deep things that the woman has never voiced before, that no ear has ever heard, and those I hold in a special place and would never speak with anyone about, and through that I started to understand my wife much better as well.
From those experiences and influences, I built characters, and now I write women far more easily than I write men. My three main characters just fly off the page, I know how they will react to whatever situation. It's effortless writing. Now to find publication! Ah the struggle to get epic fantasy published is zero fun.
