Personality: Gabe would be described as having the ‘little dog syndrome’; she acts larger than life and, often times, believes she is better at something than she actually is. Gabe is brisk and businesslike toward many of her crewmembers, and she likes everything done quick and precise. She is extremely proud, which can easily turn into arrogance at times, and she loves to be in control; she enjoys bossing others around and telling them what to do. However, she absolutely despises when others try to tell her what to do. She is prone to give harsh insults to those she dislikes and she is easily provoked.
Though she has many negative qualities, this doesn’t necessarily mean that Gabe is entirely terrible. Once you are able to get past her ruthless exterior, she can really be pretty decent. She always puts up a brave front, even if all odds are against her.

History: Being the eldest daughter of a well respected Englishman, Gabe was expected to settle down early and marry a man of high social status. But alas, Gabe had other plans for her life; hearing of her fathers’ many excursions left her with a fascination toward the open sea, and she longed to cross those waters by ship with a crew to be in command of. This dream of hers caused many clashes with her mother, who supported the idea of her getting married by the time she was eighteen, which obviously didn't happen, and Gabe was often told how unheard of a female captain was. And besides, her older brother Gilbert was supposed to take over father’s position once he could no longer retain it. But once Gilbert became involved with a notorious band of thieves, this idea of him becoming his father’s successor was shattered.
Making matters even worse, while Gabe’s father was out at sea and pirates raided his ship, a pirate’s blade slashing across his eyes during the raid robbed him of his eyesight and left him useless as a captain.
Excalibur was in desperate need of a captain, for soon it would be departing for a voyage to the Americas. And seeing as the only other male in Gabe’s family was her little brother William, who was much too young to become captain of a ship, Gabe, being the oldest after her missing older brother, was put in charge of Excalibur. She had mixed feelings about taking charge of her father’s ship: grief for her father who had been forced to step down, excitement that she was to be captain of a ship heading to the Americas, but, most of all, determination to fulfill her duties and prove herself to those who told her what she couldn’t do.

Draco and Gabe are very good friends and, even though she may not show it, Gabe has a bit of a soft spot for the Dragonair.

Amelia – Mother – 44 years old – Gabe doesn’t have a very close relationship with her mother. The two of them are so much alike that they were usually bickering at or ignoring each other.
James – Father- 51 years old – Gabe loves her father with all of her heart. He was the one who taught her how to fight with a sword, and she always adored listening to his overseas adventures. She was devastated after he lost his eyesight due to a tussle with some pirates, but it was because of that that she became Excalibur’s captain. She holds her father in high esteem and visits him and her other family members regularly.
Gilbert (Gil) – Older brother – 26 years old – After Gilbert became involved in some sketchy activities, Gabe lost all remaining respect that she may have had for him. Her and her family do not currently know of his whereabouts, but they do hear news of him from time to time. Gilbert had originally been the one who was to succeed James after he retired, but seeing as how he disappeared without a trace, things didn’t really go according to plan.
Olivia and Rebecca – Younger twin sisters – 15 years old – Neither Olivia nor Rebecca like Gabe very much since she had bullied them for years. Since both of the girls are more introverted and don’t have very strong personalities like their older sister, it was easy for Gabe to push them around when they were younger.
William – Younger brother – 13 years old – William is an innocent and oblivious child, and Gabe loves him dearly for it. He has a strong allergy to cats, so he would always stay as far away from Mr. Fuzzybuns as possible. Unlike Olivia and Rebecca, William is very friendly and open toward Gabe and is always eagerly awaiting her occasional visits.
Mr. Fuzzybuns – Cat - Age unknown (but appears to be quite old and frail) – Obtained as a little girl and named by her sisters, Mr. Fuzzybuns is a dear friend to Gabe. She has the tendency to smother the poor feline with too much love, which almost always results in him running away or hiding from her. His nicknames include Fuzzles, Bunbun, and Bunnybear.
