I’d have to say my favorite time period for them was the 60’s, so probably Syd Barrett if anything! He’s quite intriguing

Yeah I love their 60s music. I like everything though, but I’m not really into the stuff after Rog left later on.
If I had to choose, Roger and Syd are my favs. (Of course those are the two I draw the most)

I can still appreciate their work, although I’d easily choose anything Roger or Syd had worked on
Theres something about Roger that I couldn’t really get with, probably his ego really, but he’s got a real nice voice

Yeah!
I’d definitely choose Syd or Roger’s work.
I’ve heard a lot about Rog’s mike-high ego. But I’ve also heard that it may have been a cover-up for some of his insecurities.

It might have been, and if so its quite sad
But I think his manager had something to do with it, because he’d tell Roger that he’s the only one that matters and he should have left the band ages ago to become bigger, and so I feel like that may have had something to do with how controlling he seemed to be

Yeah!
I totally agree.
I mean he didn’t have that ego thing going on until the 70s or so, it seemed like.
I heard that Judy had hurt him badly (as in cheating), and of course his father passed away when he really young, so these things really didn’t help.

Well I think the more dysfunctional Syd bacame, the more Roger slowly became controlling, but it could be taken in both a negative and positive way. I mean if he hadn’t, the band might have fallen apart with Syd, but it was also like at the same time he kinda took advantage of it. But like you said, I think his whole ego grew and became more noticeable in the 70’s and forth, but I think with the past of bad things happening to him is almost plausible. But I think even as he got older, it just really stuck. When they had done the tour those few years back and there was a short documentary type thing on it and it almost seemed like a “my way or no way” type thing when it came to certain things, like the puppets for example

Yes. I mean if someone didn’t step up and take charge of the Band after Syd, the band would’ve fallen apart. Although, Roggie got a little “power happy” (if you know what I mean)

Definitely
Yeah he really did, but I don’t think they would have been the Same band if he wasn’t like that
