Description
This image was taken in Bergen, Norway on a rainy day whilst I was out trying to entertain =Nullermanden whilst he visited me and Stig. Lasse wanted to try street photography and I was a willing companion.

We were hanging around the town centre and I spotted this boy walking down the pedestrian area. About 20 minutes later he came back with a loaf of bread and started feeding the pigeons. I had seen this boy once before feeding the pigeons and he genuinely seemed to care for their welfare. He chased off the seagulls and even when it started to rain he kept on feeding them. I felt inspired to take photos of him. He was almost oblivious to the camera, but I think he eventually noticed me taking pictures and was not at all bothered when a tourist with a compact camera took a photo of him. I just wanted to capture a moment of true happiness and content in a boy that was doing something he really enjoyed. I have no idea whether he wants to work with animals when he grows up, neither do I have any idea why he feeds the pigeons. All I can do is capture the moment and that is what I believe I did.

The processing done on this image was as follows :-

1) Channel mixer adjustment layer to convert to bw with values red +10, green +80, blue +20
2) Curves adjustment layer applied to boost contrast a little
3) Levels adjustment layer applied for bw toning
4) Resize and border added for presentation on dA

There is NO cropping, NO unsharp mask, NO cloning or healing as I would usually apply where necessary.
