Description
Best shot of a flower I've ever took with my DSLR set on full manual controls. Tell what you think of it, and what I could do better next time. Please critique or comment.(c)2010 by Alex Short

I like the colors, the soft purple fits very well. I also like the contrast between the purple and the black/gray background, it makes the flowers stand out more. The tiny drops on the flowers also look very good. I also like this soft bokeh in the background.
There are some areas that are not in focus/a bit blurred, maybe you can try next time to focus either on the flower that looks now a bit blurred or try out another angle to get all flowers in focus.
What I also have to say is that it's a quite common picture, there are many like these around here but I guess that's always the problem with flowers e.deviantart.net/emoticons/b/b… " width="15" height="15" alt="

i think the lighting is great but maybe u could make it better by cropping it so that the flower is not smack in the center.

Anyways, gorgeous shot of the flower I must say, truly magnificent. There is no way you could improve this shot, but there are loads of other perspectives you could try to get.
Try shooting from the ground looking up, or you could take a flower from the stem, and use it almost like a telescope if y'know what I mean. Sorta look through the shorter end and it looks like you're inside the flower! Lots of fun to do.
There are just random ideas, I'm only 13 and don't do much photography myself. Keep up the good work Alex!
