A troll would have been a lot more condescending and offensive, and may have left some kind of comment like, "IT WILL SAW YOUR GAY MOM'S (WHO IS ACTUALLY YOUR OTHER FATHER IN DRAG) ASS IN HALF BECAUSE IT'S FAT".
BUt really, they basically scrape chunks of dirt off of a hill and break them down inside. They're dumped into those giant-ass dumptrucks with the tires that are taller than a person, and then carted off to processing stations.
THey usually use 'em to mine for coal, but sometimes near-surface deposits of pitchblend or "yellowcake" ore will be harvested using smaller ones.

It is used for digging of minerals, metals, etc ... the giant 'saw' cuts open the rocks and then it getยดs transported to the end (the thing to the very right) to load it onto some big ass huge truck thingy ...
