Description

You need to hurry and open your locker. You managed to open it in your tired stupor and to your surprise you noticed something fly down and out of it to the floor. You looked down to see what it was.
It seemed to be a birthday card. It was pretty cute, you smiled going down to get a closer look at it.
It was a cute purple fish with a party hat on. You chuckled as you picked it up off the floor. You have a liking for sea creatures so it was a nice gesture. You know a few pals that might have given you the card. You then recall that your locker is open.

You look into your nearly empty locker, there aren’t many books needed for your classes. You take off your beloved scarf and gently rest it in your locker. You love scarves so of course you brought one to school. You grabbed the books you needed and got them in your bag before you left for the library.

Study hall was just extra time at the beginning of school to let idiots study and finish their homework, and smartasses time to do extra credit. But the main point of it was to let the late bus kids get time so they won’t be late to class. Pretty smart with that in your opinion. You don’t need to study though since your smart enough as is. You perfer spending your time with your pal Eridan.

He doesn’t have many to talk to and may complain most of the time but you don’t mind. He’s pretty adorable and you find him intoxicating with his behavior. His accent lives you flustered or chuckling and you pity him to the point that you just want to admit your crush on him every time he’s turned down. You do restrain yourself and comfort him the best you can, he may not admit it but you know he appreciates it.

You stepped into the library and spot Eridan in a corner talking with Feferi. You sigh and walk over, as you start setting your stuff down you see that they’re both smiling happily. You’re worried thinking that perhaps Fef had finally decided to give Eridan a chance. You sit down shaking your head and look up at them pulling on your best fake smile.

“) (-EY ____, OH MY COD ) (APPY WRIGGLING DAY.” Feferi said in her bubbly personality.

“Thanks Fef but please don’t spread it around school, I’d rather people not try ruining it for me.” You said flatly as you took out the purple fish card.

“O) ( GLUB, YOU -EV-EN GOT A CARD. IT MUST BE A GOOD DAY FOR YOU.” She really seemed happy for you, you can’t help but truly smile.

“Yeah I found it in my locker, I still didn’t read it yet.” You said looking up at the two sea-dwellers.

“wwell maybe you should read it ____.” You looked over at Eridan who had his face buried in some random book.

You decide to just open up the card since you have nothing better to do. You look at the writing for a moment and recognize it as Eridan. You’d watch him do his homework and copy some answers and he would do the same. By now you can recognize it by a glaze. It was even in his vibrant purple ink. You smile up at Eridan who happened to be catching a glance at you. You smiled and went to reading the card.

You smile hugging the card. You look up at Eridan who had finally taken his face out of his book. You gave him a big grin. Feferi giggled and got up taking her things. You tilt your head looking at her confused.

“I think I’ll leave the two of you alone, I’m shore you’d both like some time to glub together.” She then hopped out of the library, probably to go find Sollux.

You look back at Eridan who had a faint violet blush on his cheeks. You grin pointing a finger at him. He raises an eyebrow confused at your gesture. You chuckled grinning wider.

“Start talking Lover fish, why you blushing?” You said teasing him causing him to blush more.

“I don’t knoww wwhat your glubbing about ____.” He pushed back his giant hipster glasses as he looked away from you most likely to hide his blush.

You thought for a moment before something clicked in the back of your mind, “….Di-did you finally get Fef?…” You could barely get it out past your heart ache.

“Wwhat makes you think that I got wwith fef?” He seemed extremely confused with you for some reason, you put your hands up in defense.

“Hey I just thought you might have since you two seemed so cheerful together. If that’s not it than why were you blushing?” You wanted to get an answer from him but he just grumbled.

“Do you have a problem with telling me or something? What’s wrong Eridan? You can usually talk to me a bit longer than this before getting pissed.” You looked at him extremely confused with his silence.

“Look, ____, I’m just not sure if I should explain the stupid blush is all. Alright, noww drop the subject for a moment. Did you like the card? I saww you hugging it and all.” He pointed to the card in your hands, you light up joyfully in a smile.

“It’s real thoughtful of you to remember my ‘wriggling day’ fish breath. Thanks, it means a ton.” You replied with a cheerful chuckle.

“No problem, it wwas suppose to cheer you up a bit so I suppose the main objectivve of it wwas obtained.” He was rubbing the back of his neck and blushing again.

“….Eridan….Did you find another crush besides Fef?…” You stared at Eridan as seriously as one could while holding back all emotions.

“Wwell, it is someone other than Fef, but it isn’t a neww crush….” He leaned back in his chair keeping from any eye contact with you.

“Eridan…could you at least tell me who it is than?” He could probably detect the fear in your voice since he looked up at you.

He took in a deep breath before letting out, “I-it’s you ____….Damn wwhat kind of crappy confession is this…Look ____, I’vve kinda been interested in you for some time now.” His face was coated in his royal blood color after that much, you couldn’t help but stare in disbelief.

You had been crushing on Eridan for some time and he was doing the same. You wouldn’t have expected it being that he usually goes after Fef. You try shaking your head to see if you were dreaming. It wasn’t a dream, it wasn’t your imagination, Eridan had confessed he had some more flushed feelings for you.

“Look ____, I get it if you aren’t interested but the least you could do is tell me your opinion on this!” He snapped striking you out of your thoughts.

You smiled getting out of your chair. Eridan looked at you confused and clearly he was about to start yelling. You crouched down to him smiling, you watched as he took in a breath. You dove at him giving him a sweet kiss. He took in his air so you know he’ll be fine on air supply for the time being.

He tasted like wine (screw all else you have tasted wine bitches) he was even addictive like it. You grabbed hands full of his lovely scarf and used it to pull him closer to you. He was humming into the kiss, you grinned as you started sitting in his lap. You pulled back with blush blazing across your face. The two of you chuckled hugging each other.

“So I take it you’vve been swwooning ovver me than ____?” Eridan asked with a cocky eye brow raised.

“Oh shut up Ampora.” You said looking away from him, “flushed for you.” You muttered still not looking at him while you smiled.

“I heard that, matesprits?” He asked with a chuckle.

“Of course.” You said hugging him again as the bell rang signaling school’s actual beginning.

You gathered your things and gave Eridan a quick kiss as you left. You blushed as you walked through the halls. Some of your few friends even asked if you were sick during your first class. You didn’t feel like telling them about the matespritship yet or about your Birthday so you just laughed at them.

*Time Skip, a Wwhale flies by getting shot down by Eridan changing time somehow*

You when through school rather pleased with the turn of events. You spent lunch with Eridan and Nepeta somehow already had your ship on her famous shipping wall. You kept glancing at him in the few classes you shared with him while you both blushed. You had somehow managed to last the day without mangling people for walking between the two of you while you talked.

By the end of the day you were at your locker collecting your things with your scarf well adjusted on you. As you where about to close your locker someone cornered you. You looked up seeing Eridan with a grin across his face.

“Hey there ____. Your day going swwell?” He asked as he held your chin up at him.

“Yeah, it’s been good.” You said quickly closing the gap between the two of you.

You tangled your fingers in Eridan’s hair while he grabbed your waist. While your fingers toyed with his hair he sneaked his hand in your bag looking around for something. He pulled back from the kiss and held up the card he gave you. You smiled taking the card from him.

“I see you tried to keep the card safe. I could barely find it in that mess of a bag you’vve got.” He said with a grin while you put it back in your bag.

“Wwhatevver, you gave it to me so of course I’m going to keep it safe. Besides it’s a cute card.” You said mocking his accent making him chuckle.

“It was a cute card, that’s why I got it for you.” He said with a smile as he led you out.
