Description
Bringing back yet another old character! This time it's Sir Rena, Crystal's best friend and knight.Knowing each other from a very young age, Crystal would call Sir Rena, "Cyreana," as if it were one name, rather than a title. It didn't take long for it to become her nickname.
As for why she's pictured with Knuckles here, it's as simple as "I used to pair them together."
Both are stubborn, fight-first-ask-later, ill-tempered guardians who make their duty their priority above all else. Knuckles guards the Master Emerald. Cyreana guards Crystal.
They go through a bit of bonding, understanding each other's plights and loneliness.
Not to say that they always get along. That shared stubbornness often enough leads to them butting heads, even when they appear to agree, as shown by Knuckles confusion here. XD

Oh, I hope not. Three is a perfect number: Sonic, Shadow, and Silver make a good trio. Adding a new hedgehog to it might throw it off.
I hope it's a lesser known species. Something unique, or even an endangered species.

Egad, I hope not. The last thing they need is a new love interest. I don't trust the current writers to tell a good story, let alone anything with the slightest hint of romance.
At the very least, they don't need a new love interest for Sonic. I'll say that.
Oh, I dunno. I'm usually so excited for new characters, but nowadays, I just wish that they would make more use the ones they have. It's only been Sonic and Tails for a while.
Even in Generations, everyone made an appearance, but the cutscenes were limited to Sonic and Tails, primarily. Once they were rescued or otherwise, the other characters didn't contribute after that until the ending to cheer on Classic and Modern Sonic. (Not counting those missions...)
Like I said, I haven't been paying close attention, but I hope that there are more playable characters, other than Sonic. I'm a Sonic Adventure 2 baby. I grew up playing with all of these characters, and suddenly it's just Sonic all the time. It was a little jarring.

i agree sonic's friends should of have a bigger role in generations heck silver and shadow should of help since they could turn super...but about the new character i always had this feeling that the new character might be a love interest for some reason...and again if it is maybe the current writers could take there time and develop a relationship between sonic and the new character hell they did it with sonic and elise,and maybe if the new character is a love intrest sonic and her/him don't have to end up as a couple at the end of the game,they could save it for the sequel or something...ohhh yeah i forgot the guy who is producing the game...is the guy who produce sonic o6.....i got a bad feeling about this.

Apparently that guy was the Lead Game Designer for Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg.
Thus, all is forgiven. XD
And in all fairness, Director and Producer are two different roles. Both of great importance, but different in execution.
He directed Sonic '06. I don't know how to reflect that onto a producing role except maybe...low standards.
But hey, this game wasn't rushed for the 25th anniversary. SEGA is already taking a step in the right direction.
Now, while I highly doubt that a new character would be a love interest at this point, all it would do was show that someone is not making full use of the characters they have at their disposal, once again: Amy Rose.
That is to say, if they will bother including a romance plot within the game, they should first use the resources (characters) they have on hand. Or, introduce two new characters and have them together.
I just pray they don't suddenly include any of the current characters in a romantic relationship. Sure, I have couples I like, Sonic & Amy, Shadow & Rouge, but I'd rather keep romance out of the in-games' main cast. They could hint some things, or characters could have moments (like the ending of Sonic Rush for Sonic and Blaze, or parts of SA2 for Shadow and Amy) but nothing explicitly romantic.
I've been wanting them, for years, to further develop upon Sonic's relationships with the other characters, Amy, Knuckles, Shadow, heck, Tails! Despite the fact that it's only been the two of them, I don't feel like I've learned or experience much of anything.
It's gotten to the point that I've asked why there were cutscenes at all. I believe I would have enjoyed Generations more if there was no story whatsoever.
Ugh, there's too much for me to complain about with some of the more recent games...
I've somewhat dissociated with them, and I stick to the older ones I grew up with.

First yes sonic boom is awesome!!.2nd the story in sonic generations was okay and yes they should of use more of Sonics friends in there all they did was nothing...actually silver could of help since he time travels...3rd about the romantic thing Amy isn't really a love interest
to sonic,she's more of a fan girl and I can't see her as Sonics girlfriend....and it's gonna be disappointing in sonic forces since they said sonics friends are only gonna be on radio like in generations...and it sounds like tails of course will a helping sonic while the others are just there...and back to the romantic thing like you said They could hint some things,and it probably go no where
If they were gonna have sonic and this new character have a romantic connection they could again develop it,have moments in the story where it's just Sonic and the new character have them develop there relationship slowly getting to know each other you know,have them a special relationship like sonic and tails has that close relationship...now I'm not saying have them end up as a couple at the end of the game..I'm just saying maybe just develop their relationship I guess you could have a romantic moment are two just to hint that maybe they might end up together

Amy is the closest thing the games have to a canon love interest.
I wouldn't say that she and Sonic are actually dating, but she is interested in him romantically. That makes her a "love-interest."
Like everyone else in the cast, the two are close friends, of course.
Once again, it all goes back to being totally unfair to the entire previously established cast of characters if they were introduce a new character and solely build on the relationship between "Character X" and Sonic.
A decent example is what you said just now, about just seeing Amy as a fangirl. There's more to her than that, but they don't get to show the other parts of her personality often because she doesn't appear a lot anymore. Therefore, they are extremely limited to what character traits they can show in whatever amount of time they have to use for her character.
If she appeared more often, they would have more opportunities to show/use her other character traits, be it her kindness or short-temper. Or hey, maybe even a chance to show that her love for Sonic is genuine and that she isn't just some fangirl.
I mean really, they're friends. It'd be nice to see them interacting more often, even if she's just helping save the world as usual.
And Sonic has accepted to take her out on a date on more than one occasion, in-game and otherwise. >v>
Now, I'm not saying, "Sonic is with Amy! There's no way they'll introduce another character as a love-interest!"
I'm mostly saying that they have plenty of characters of which have relationships with one another, very close friendships, that exist, but need to be developed upon. Like, Tails and Knuckles are good friends, too. I'd like to see them interact more. Or, what about Knuckles and the Chaotix? Now that's a question that needs an answer.
Team Dark got a good treatment of this in '06. A lot of Shadouge shippers got their fill, sure, but that aside, the sense of alliance was shown clearly between all three members. That they don't just tolerate one another, but seem to truly trust each other. Even with one of them being a robot!
So, if anything. I hope this new character is a villain. The possibility of a new recurring villain that could maybe be Eggman's rival in a way? That could be rad. Totally rad. And then in a future game, they'd try the "enemy of my enemy is my friend" and still get their butts kicked, probably because they try to backstab each other, leading to them both losing to Sonic and his friends. XD

That's true..but they did said eggman is the villain in the game,hell it said it was about Sonic and his friends vs eggman..I don't they should ad another villain in there...and the thing with Amy is also true..in my opinion Amy in current games doesn't really show her other character traits like you said and she really doesn't do anything else rather than look for Sonic and that's it...
but it does sound like maybe we could see Sonic and his friends interact more since it is about sonic and his friends vs eggman...but there is the new character who has to be important to the plot rather then just woke random character everyone well forget,and about Sonics friends they said the Chaotix Amy knuckles and tails well be in there...yep no team dark...or blaze...or silver...or anyone else,but again what kind of character could this be...it's not a villain character he or she has to be important.

But those last two have a chance to be seen again because of all of the crazy space-time riffraff that happens to these characters on a daily basis.
Heck, even Shadow was supposed to be that sort of character, but his popularity bought him a ticket into the main cast.
Shame it won't be a villain. I think that'd be cool.
And if they do some time travel stuff, and introduce a new character instead of using poor, neglected Silver, I'm going to lose my mind!
It's cool that the Chaotix, of all characters, made it in. ^^
