that's wonderful to hear! i've been wanting to try little sketches or shapes to go with watercolors. this is one of my first tries! so glad you like it!

my paintings must be painful, then. hah that's why you like what we're doing it, cause i'm using straight lines too! i never thought of that. i wonder if i got the vibe from you? it's unusual for me. actually, i hat grids. ok sistah, i'm going to pull out all the grids from a pad that has a lot of those. ha! but you have to use them!!!

They are not painful, I am trying to open my horizons and see things outside of my comfort zone.
I looked at my pad of papers I have, and I will try to do something with it next time around....

excellent. it's good for your mind! abstract can be so expressive. that's what i'd recommend, look at them and see what the atmosphere is like and how the art affects you. good or bad, the emotional reaction is what i'm trying to create. and it doesn't really matter to me if people like it (that does feel good) or not. i just want to know it provoked a thought or feeling in them. that's my explanation of how to enjoy abstract art, just my opinion.
yes, play with paper! don't forget collage! don't forget to buy a package of white gel pens. other gel pens are ton of fun, in case you haven't used them before. and glitter glue.....
i'm sure you can doodle! doodle ideas of fractals that you make up in your mind!

I have a second car that I am planning on fixing up and giving to my son, so today I pulled the battery out after trying to charge it. I will go out Monday, buy a new battery and go to Hobby Lobby to get a piece of glass cut. I will visit the paper/pen aisle.

i'm so impressed that you can fix up a car! i bet being in the Army makes you able to take care of yourself and be well rounded in the things you can do. do you mind me asking you why you decided to join the Army?
is your stapler a big red Swingline? those are so cool! do you have it because of the whole thing about the movie "Office Space?" i have an ancient pretty similar one but it's industrial grey. i'm really into it. i like to use it in collage. and i just like to staple stuff together. haha!

I can't really fix up a car, but I can try to figure some things out. It's not running, so I can't break anything. I plan on taking it to the shop once I get the new battery in and have them check everything else. I really can't remember why I joined. I was in the reserves first, then I went to nursing school. After graduation I decided to go active. My ex husband is the one that really talked me into it. He liked the paycheck.
Yes it is a swingline. It has a funny story behind it, I got it as a white elephant gift a couple Christmas's ago. I had never seen the movie, but the movie was part of the gift that someone else took, she thought the stapler was stupid and everyone talked her into giving it to me, since my real gift was men's body wash by Bath and Body works. I was upset, and the heifer was greedy. I went and watched the movie after that.
I used to love stapling timecards with leave forms, etc at my last job. I loved the feel of the stapler in my hand, it was sturdy and never jammed which is a great thing when you do lots of stapling.
