The tom's sharp voice cut into the silence, and Jayfeather turned his sightless blue eyes to the cats that approached him.Sharpstorm and Tawnypelt.
Flametail's parents.
"You!" Sharpstorm hissed, fury seething in his voice. "You Killed My Son!!" he shouted.
Tawnypelt quieted her furious mate with a flick of her tail.
"I told you, I'm sure it wasn't his fault." the tortoiseshell she-cat meowed, "right, Jayfeather?"
Tawnypelt tuned her head to the Thunderclan medicine cat, he could feel her amber eyes searching his.
Jayfeather shook his head, he had already decided what he would tell Flametail's family.
"I let him drown." The medicine cat said softly, "he drowned because I let him." as he spoke up, he could feel the dead cat's father surging with rage yet again and his mother's shock and pain.
"I'm sorry, your son is dead because of me."
