Description Just a picture of my two dogs, Teddy (white) and Taci (brindle). We got Teddy a year ago, a day after our first dog PeeWee died, and we got Taci (pronounced as Taisy, btw) just a week ago. She's 8 weeks old now and quite a handful, so I don't have as much time to draw atm, but I'll try getting back into it. In the meantime, have a picture of my two favourite chihuahuas!

Makes me remember when my dog was only a few weeks old, man, those were the days back then, he could barely keep up with me running, now he's always aheadΒ  Β

Aww that's so cute, haha! How old is your dog now?
These two were always super fast as puppies, we even had to put a collar with a bell on Teddy (the white dog in the pic) just so we could hear her coming and we wouldn't accidently step on her! xD

We only had Teddy at first, but we figured she'd might like to have a companion, so we decided to get another dog!
What's your dogs name btw?

Well, our dogs normally don't really get along with other dogs. We've exposed them to enough dogs since they were puppies, but when they got older they just started not to like it. Maybe it's a chihuahua thing.

Awwww, they're both so adorable! Makes me really miss my old chihuahua that died a bunch of years ago.
But now I have a Siamese cat, and my mom has two dogs as well, a Pomeranian and a miniature poodle. Both so cute, but noisy as hell. They drive me insane when they both start barking for no reason. Are yours noisy too by any chance? I know that chihuahuas can be really noisy.

Thanks! Aw I'm sorry, the loss of a dog is hard. What was your chihuahuas name?
Yeah you told me you have a Siamese cat and I think they're adorable. And the dogs are really cute too! We actually wanted a Pomeranian too at first, but they were too expensive, so we ended up buying another chihuahua. xD
Taci isn't that noisy yet, only when she's playing or trying to get Teddy's attention. Teddy on the other hand barks to every single stranger she encounters. We're living on the third floor of an apartment building, so when she's on the balcony she isn't really used to seeing other people up close. As soon as we leave the house though, she barks at literally everything, but that's mainly because she's scared. That was another reason we decided to get her a friend, to get her to be a little more social.

Np! It was a really hard time for me. That dog was so attached to me mostly. He was so precious and his name was Armand. I even named one of my recent troll OCs after him actually. He was a light brown standard chihuahua that sort of looked like the Taco Bell dog.
Ahh, I love my kitty soo much! I even broke my leg because of her last year but I still love her to bits anyway. Her name is Solice and she's such a precious darling. I wanted to name her Sollux at first, but I decided that Solice would be a better variant. I also named fem!Sollux after my cat.
Both my mom's dogs are incredibly noisy. Sometimes I wonder what they're even barking at! And yeah, Pomeranians are expensive. But I thought chihuahuas were even more expensive. I remember when we wanted to buy one, they sold for a lot. We decided to get the Pomeranian for the same reason, because our little poodle was lonely and she needed a friend. Ya know, these dogs are lesbians. They hump each other when they're in heat. The poodle's name is Angie and the Pomeranian's name is Bella.

Aww he sounds like a really sweet dog. You often see that chihuahuas attach themselves to one person mostly, so you were probably that person for him! How old was he when he died?
That's sounds painful. :S Did she make you trip or something? Hahaha, So you named her after Sollux and then you named fem!Sollux after her. XD
I don't know if it's different in your country, but over here pomeranians cost a lot more than chihuahuas. Like, we paid 450 euros for Teddy and 650 euros for Taci, while the cheapest pomeranian we saw was like 1200 euros. It's probably because chihuahuas are more populair.
Hahaha really? I hope my dogs aren't going to hump each other. Teddy is sterilised though, before she got her first heat, so I don't think she will, but Taci on the other hand... When she is old enough she will get sterilised too, but she's already humped a few toys, so yeah.. I never knew puppies did that, but apparently it's out of dominance or something. >_<
Those are cute names! When we still had to name Taci, we also considered naming her Bella. My mom really liked the name, but my sister didn't. xD

He was sweet, indeed, and also rather calm and friendly for a chihuahua, which is rare. Those tend to be really noisy and mean. Well, at least he was always very sweet and loving to me, he always wanted to cuddle and be petted.
And yeah, my cat was running out of the room and I chased her, basically jumping off the bed and landing on my leg the wrong way, causing it to break. It took a while to recover. It was actually my ankle, not my leg, but close enough.
Maybe it is different. In Canada, chihuahuhas were always super expensive, selling for at least 500 to 800 dollars. We got our Pomeranian for around 350 dollars, I think. My former chihuahuha sold for 250 dollars because he was already five years old when we bought him; he died at around 11 or 12 years of age. However, our miniature poodle was for free because my brother's girlfriend had an aunt who couldn't keep her anymore so they gave her to us. Otherwise, I know for sure that poodles are really expensive too. Especially since they're hypoallergenic and even people with dog allergies can keep them. I don't particularly care for neither of the dogs' names because I didn't choose them, my mom and sister did. I mean, except the poodle, her name was already Angel when we got her, but my mom calls her Angie. If they were my dogs, I'd name them after Homestuck characters like I did with my cat. The cat is MINE and ONLY MINE! I have to take care of her by myself. She's not allowed downstairs where my mom keeps the dogs and birds.

Was he friendly towards other people/strangers too? That's indeed rare for a chihuahua. Teddy is one of those typical chihuahuas, if she knows you it's okay, but if she doesn't she will keep barking and if they try to touch her she'll growl. Taci on the other hand likes everyone, but she's still a puppy. Hopefully it doesn't change though. But 11/12 is a rather young age for a chihuahua, how did your dog die?
That's so painful, but she didn't do it on purpose. I once broke my left ankle too when I was little, a bumpercar or whatever those things are called crashed into it. >_<
That is weird, maybe it's different indeed. I know there's a difference between dollars and euros, but I don't know which is worth more. Maybe it has something to do with that.
Even if the dogs aren't named after characters, I still like their names a lot. They're both so cute! But your cats name is definitely way cooler, and more rare too. x
Oh, does your mom have birds too? What kind?

M33N4H In reply to CreatedByAlicia [2017-08-27 08:32:46 +0000 UTC]

Not really. But when it came to to the people in our house, he was overly friendly. Always wanting to be petted and cuddled, and just such an affectionate little dog. He did growl and bark at strangers, even bit people sometimes, but I suppose that can be expected of almost any dog. To be honest, I don't even know how old he had been when we first bought him. The owners had said he was around 5 years old at the time, and we had him for over half a decade so he had to have been somewhere around 11/12 when he died. I didn't really know that was considered young, but he died of some stomach condition where he couldn't eat. Poor thing had always loved food so much all his life.
Well, there's also a difference between Canadian dollars and American dollars, which I have no idea what that is either, so eh...
Hehe, yeah, they are cute, but they're not my dogs so I had no say in their names. I'm so happy I have a cat! And especially the fact that it's my cat. My mom has two birds, they're parakeets. One is blue, the other is green.

So he didn't like strangers either? Yeah maybe it's just a chihuahua thing. My dog who died last year, PeeWee, never had a problem with strangers. He was a Jack Russell. He didn't like other dogs that much though, but the reason for that he was attacked when he was a few years old by a Romanian Sherperd, so that explained his behaviour.
Aw, did he stop eating out of the sudden? Yes, it's very sad indeed that a dog who loves food so much ends up with a stomach condition.
I knew there was a difference between American and Canadian dollars, but I don't know either.
Haha, they all sound so cute!

Nah, not much. But I'd say my mom's Pomeranian is a lot worse when it comes to barking. She barks at literally everything... often times for no reason at all. She'll just randomly start barking at the door even when there's nothing there. Our chihuahua had actually been very quiet and peaceful compared to this barking maniac. He only really barked when strangers came over, but otherwise, he was mostly a quiet dog. Yes, it was really sad when he died. He hadn't eaten for quite a few days right before. He was already getting really skinny from overall poor nourishment for some months, and it was sad because he'd always been a bit of a chubby dog before. He used to live with lots of other dogs, so that explains why he ate so much really fast. He probably was used to have someone else eat his food before.
Well, I have no idea which is worth more, so...
Hehe thanks! I wish I could post a picture of my cat, but I don't have my own camera.

Okay, I take back what I said about Taci not being noisy. She's LOUD! Especially because she is so small, it makes her bark really high pitched and it's so annoying. She's way worse than Teddy now, since Teddy only barks at strangers and stuff, but Taci just starts barking out of nowhere.
Really? What about the poodle, doesn't she join in when the pomeranian starts barking randomly? Aw, your chihuahua sounds so sweet and it's so incredibly sad that he had to go through that before passing away. I feel really bad for him. Yeah that definitely explains why he ate really fast, you see that more often with dogs who lived with lots of other dogs. It's quite normal, otherwise all the other dogs would've eaten his food.
Np! <3 Aw, that's too bad, but I'm sure your cat is super adorable.

Yeah, it's pretty common for small dogs to be noisy. Our poodle has a super high-pitched bark too, and occasionally she'll join the Pomeranian and they'll both start yapping senselessly, but sometimes one of them barks their head off and the other is silent. I don't get it.
I miss my old chihuahua. I only have fond memories of him, though my mom said he was an evil little bastard to her at times and growled. I mean, I did mention he even bit a few people sometimes. Though, that's a side of him I personally never saw cause he was always such a sweet companion to me. Maybe only I remember him being such a sweet angel.
My cat is a doll! But it's a known fact that Siamese cats can be pretty bitchy sometimes too. That's something I've never seen in Solice either, however.

Our Jack Russell we had before never was this noisy, he always was a calm and friendly dog. But like I said, it's probably because of the breed. The older Taci gets, the worse she gets. Even when she hears a dog bark on tv, she'll start barking along. But their favourite thing is to bark when they're both on the balcony, at literally anything that moves. People, dogs, ducks, it doesn't matter.
You often see that chihuahua's are drawn to one specific person. So in your dogs case your were probably his favourite. Teddy does this too, she is never mean to my mother, but if she's grumpy all I have to do is look at her and she'll start growling. xD
Really? I didn't know that about Siamese Cats. But not all pets have to live up to their breeds stereotype. Seems like Solice is any exception.
