You captured this place on the right day, at the right time. The cloudy background helps accentuate the top of the rocks wonderfully, and I love how the green grows over the base of the rocks in a day-old-stubble sort of way. The water also has a nice, casual blend of greys, white, and hints of green-blue which help transition into the lightly tanned sand.
It's almost as thought this piece is split into three sections or strips, with changing texture. The top of the rocks and clouds - grey; the water and the base of the rocks - green, ,the sandy bottom - a medium-light tan. Those three strips, and their changing textures, shows that you were paying attention to your distance in order to get a great balance like that. And I don't know if it's just me, but the rocks to the right look like they even have faces in poses. I see about three. The ridges and openings that are visible along them show great, unique detail with a nice, water-smoothed surface.
I couldn't think of a greater place to wait for a storm. This photo is beautiful, even if it's gloomy and hold many shades of grey. The amazing green on the rocks help lift some of the gloom along with the white froth of the churning waves. Even if you don't like overcast days (which I looove!), there is a magnitude present here, almost as though some of the energy that would be felt and/or seen in the oncoming storm is starting to trickle into the environment, and through the lens.
Great luck to have snapped this, it's very nice. Great job.

Sorry, but I had to reject the critique.
1. it wasn't done properly (a critique should be based off the Vision, Originality, Technique, and Impact of the photo, and each part of the critique should reference one of those topics).
2. You made one paragraph, then just copied it two more times in order to fill up the required number of words...
I do however appreciate the fact that you at least took the time to write a bit more in depth commentary. I am also glad that you like the image...
