Description
A swedish miltia from late 15th century/ early 16th. A famous German Landsknecht called Paul Dolstein fought these men. He was impressed by their unique weapon, the "Staffsword".
It is a weapon which has only been used in Sweden during the Middle ages. The access to the high quantity of iron in sweden allowed for there weapons to be made, while other european countries had to settle with pikes whom had a much smaller end.

They also carried baggy trousers which they rolled up when in heat or crossing a river. And where the first troops to be encountered equipped with water canteens. Which was not standard soldier EQ in those days. But the crossbow and their armor was pretty outdated then, and in peace they where normal peasants.
