Mitch: "Jerome, you have to go. Now." He looked at me pleadingly as the deafening thuds of the zombie's fists beat on the door.

Jerome: "I- I can't, Mitch! I can't leave you!" I shook my head frantically.

Mitch: "Now Jerome! I'll be right behind you! Just go!" He pushed me towards the window. A short drop, and I'd be safe- as safe as I could be in a zombie apocalypse.

Jerome: "I love you, Mitch." I whispered hoarsely, swinging my legs out the window and made the short drop to the grass. I waited a moment for Mitch to follow. The only part of Mitch that followed was his necklace, the one I'd given him for our one-year anniversary, shining gold and crimson.
